Have a Holly Jolly Retail Christmas ...

With Scott's permission ...

Working retail is HELL - at the holidays more than ever. People are rude (to put it VERY mildly), expect way more than a person can possibly give them, shoplifters are everywhere, and OF COURSE everyone is understaffed, because the holiday season is where profit comes from - so they're trying to cut as many corners as they can to actually MAKE a profit at this time of year.

Scott works six days a week, usually 11-12 hours a day (often more) during the holidays. His employees (and the rest of the world) LOVE him and would do anything for him - but of course, they feel beaten down, overworked, and exhausted. Sometimes, they just need to let off some steam, have a laugh, and re-focus.

Scott is a master at not taking himself too seriously and getting his team back into the spirit of having fun while they run themselves ragged.

Can you tell?

How could anyone not adore the guy ...

LOL! I used to work retail. One customer made me cry one Christmas. She yelled at me beacuse she thought I gave the previous customer two tops to a box, and not a top and a bottom. I think she wanted me to run into the parking lot to make sure. I would definitely have loved to have had Scott as my boss. You need to be able to laugh when work gets crazy busy during the holidays!

Cuz, you seem like such the quiet and reserved type, and Scott seems to be the laugh out loud huge guffaw type. How in the world did you find each other? LOL! Maybe you should try the same getup at your work. You never know...LOL!

Oh, there's no need to preach to the choir about the rudity (is that a word??) of the world around us....THEY ARE A MESS......
Too bad I'm not a little closer...I'd drag a big, huge, giant lunch and goodies to his store and the employees. I'm doing my best to speak to every person I meeet in a store or elsewhere this year...and ASK THEM HOW THEY ARE DOING AND WISH THEM HAPPY HOLIDAYS. I know they get so little ofthat.

Scott, that picture was him at work - I wasn't there. I don't know who unwrapped him. Hopefully he unwrapped himself. :)
