I've done that before, but not for a while. Not this badly. I slept weird over the weekend and my neck and shoulder had been hurting, but last night my lower back was hurting too. This morning I got up from a sitting position and *WHAM*! My whole lower back went into spasms. I yelled - LOUDLY - fell to the floor, and it took me a good two or three minutes to get up. I could barely walk, but finally got into a chair. I was actually crying at this point.
I called into work, used the massage pillow that Scott gave me, and about an hour later was able to get into a very hot shower, which helped a little. And now I'm sitting here, my little pillow lovingly working my lower back with its heated hands, still in massive amounts of pain and actually wishing I could go to work. Or at least go work in the yard (it's about 70 degrees and gorgeous right now, and supposed to get up to around 80 this afternoon).
This is the view from my desk (and probably will be my only view all day):
Gah!! I can't do anything at all! Grrrr. Ow ow ow.
Other things Matterdays can't do:
Install a showerhead.
Put in a new porch light:
Thankfully, Scott can do these things. Otherwise, we'd have water spraying all over the bathroom and a very crispy Matterdays lying on the porch with a live wire still clutched in his fist.
Okay, I'm gonna try to go downstairs and find something to eat.
OWWWWW!!!!!! Ow ow ow ow ow. Dammit. *sniff*

So sorry that you hurt your back!
Time for the deliciousness of prescription drugs!
Oh no! Back pain is the worst. I was all messed up in my back this weekend and it took massage (thanks to the Fella), a long soak in an epsom salt bath and chinese herbal patches on my back to feel somewhat normal.
I sure hope you feel better ASAP! Take it easy.
Ow, that sucks. I remember the time I threw my back out and couldn't stand up.
Hope you feel better soon.
You know, you're not supposed to throw your back out. You're supposed to hold on to it, like your receipts and W-2s, in case you get audited?
OK, that was a *really* bad joke, which you're probably not in the mood for. Take it easy, make Scott wait on you hand and food, get some sympathy lovin' from the dogs, and feel better soon!
Awwww... sounds awful!
That's gotta be the suckiest pain to have.
Do I hear "BACK RUB" in your future??
Every fricking day for six or seven years I've dealt with back issues. I am in nearly constant readjusting, shifting, trying to make it all better. I know exactly how THAT pain is that knocks you to your knees....and not in a good way. Very sorry to hear the news.
Sorry you're in pain, cuz. ((((hugs))))) Love you much!
Ow ow ow. Just reading about this gives me a phantom spasm. I have a spot, smack between my shoulder blades, that teaches me humility once in a while. There's no rhyme or reason to when it strikes. It can radiate into my shoulder and neck.
My brother gave me a "Bed Buddy" (love that name!) for Christmas. It's filled with some kind of gel and can be either chilled in the refrigerator or heated in the microwave. (OK, I know what you're thinking... but it's shaped like a little pillow).
I feel your pain, blog buddy. The fellowship of the thrown back, like its kidney stone cousin, has to be experienced to be believed. Ow.
I agree with Dave2. Time for serious drugs. Hope you're feeling better by now!
Agh, back pain and head aches, those are the two pains that take you right out. My back does that strange thing where I can lift heavy things no problem but one day I pick up a sock and "click" I am down for days. Get better soon Matt!
Lie on a hard surface and insist everything you enjoy is brought to you in a constant, seamless procession.
Bad backs aren't conducive to having fun. I'm just saying ...
Oh ouch, you poor thing! I hope it feels better soon, I can only imagine the pain :-(
Ouch!! I know that pain! Sorry you got it!
