Starting the day looking at the news and at blogs ... this guy is actually campaigning to try and take over Microsoft because of their pro-gay rights policies. THEN he'll turn his attention to secondary things like poverty and child abuse. Hmpf.
Enough of him. My Amazon order arrived the other day - including the book about my hometown:
Kali the Amazingly Large and Resilient Puppy. Notice the chunk of ear missing from the Christmas Day Massacre:
I don't know how I got this bruise on my foot:
Scott had a request for dinner:
Secret ingredient - Hale's Harvest Ale:
I love this label - couldn't resist:
Scott, however, wasn't pleased with the way it complimented the appetizers:
Poor Scott - he has an eye infection. He looks like a pirate - arrggghh!
Cool sunset tonight:
Us being silly before dinner - yeah, I'm growing some scruff for a change:
Wow - that meat really cooks down a lot:
BONUS PIC:
My bonus word was "Inglehoffer". Luckily I had just the thing to photograph:
Happy 12 of 12!

kali is a beautiful dog (she know's it too doesn't she?)
great 12.
Loving the scruff! Scott's eyepatch is sexy, too!
Great pics!! I know that town (Palatine) The dinner looked wonderful. I'm hungry now.
Thanks, you just made me hungry.
Aww poor Kali.
I Like the scruff too.
It's fun to see 12 of 12 fall on a Saturday. But I'm so far behind. What started the dog fight on Christmas? And Scott's eye infection?
Happy New Year's to you!
Wow, talk about in the wars, with Kali's ear and Scott's eye!
good 12 of 12, fun too. So with the eye patch, are you guys talking like pirates to each other all day?
oh- and love that Cheap Red Wine bottle. what a riot.
Ahh, Ken Hutchinson. Can't tell whether to laugh or cry. Or both.
So, was "Cheap Red Wine" any good? I mean, there's not a word in the name I don't like ;)
I am amazed how much I can learn from looking at 12 (fairly) innocent pictures of you.....it's like I have a whole other perspective.....it's cool! It's hot! It's sexy! It's 2008....yeah! Good times, boys.
WTH-This is just tooooooo creepy...I have an eye infection, too. Weird.
Love your pictures. They were a sight for sore eyes.
I always look forward to your 12 of 12. :)
And . . . I meant to also say, that's an awfully large bruise to not remember getting it!
I'm sure a previous bottle of "cheap red wine" had something to do with the bruise.
Loved your bonus pic. (that cracked me up)
Great stuff--I hope everyone is healing up!
Happy 12 of 12!
Palatine is becoming oh so familiar of a town to me with my weekly treks out to the western suburbs. It amazes me that the publisher is able to find so much information about these communities, including mine. I've been doing the scruffy look too again. Don't know how long it will last.
corned beef sounds wonderful!! I can barely get the family to let me have it on St Pats day! maybe I'll try it with beer this year??
What strange customs you have up north. Around here the butter comes after dinner - when we've drunk all the wine.
Palatine, Illinois? I was so surprised to see that. I grew up in Palatine, and now ended up living there again!
Er... new books???
Poisonwood Bible??
You're in trouble - see me after school.
Poor Kali.....puppy kisses from Bailey to her!
Thought u were from Oak Park?!
Palatine - good god, I had a temp job there once!!! I lived in Northbrook for a year.
Like the wine - I'm debating whether to try the "Sweet Bitch" wine I keep seeing in the liquor store.....
Too bad you guys don't have a parrot and a hook for Scott.
9w (I have to know where you got that name) - yes, she does. But we encourage her vanity.
Michael - thanks! I don't know how much more I can take, though. Maybe a trim is in order.
Sorted - I forgot you were from near Palatine. Nice place to live - but I wouldn't want to visit ...
Scott - come over any night for dinner. You and Andrew can play with Kali before she eats your dinner for you.
Paul - Happy New Year!! I'll have to fill you in later. All okay now, though.
Helen (Dogeared) - we love drama. :)
Rick - all we said to each other for two days was "Arrggghhh".
Chris - the Cheap Red Wine was actually pretty good. How can you go wrong?? :)
Lewis - fairly innocent? We're practically nuns!
Scooter - we have to meet someday.
LSL - see Scott's comment below yours. He may be right. I don't remember. :)
Amanda - thanks! Luckily the healing process is working.
John - when are you going to join?? :)
Steven - I was ecstatic to find this book - especially because I'm sure I'll never live there again.
Susan - beer and LOOOONG slow cooking ... I can't understand how anyone could not like it ...
Joe - out in the PacNW we just leave sticks of butter on the tables for people to enjoy with their drinks. Kinda like a salt lick.
Joseph - small world! What part?
Darth - ummm, I thought with you being gone for so long that we were postponing a month. Really.
Oh. Yes sir. I'll be there after school ...
Bux - my parents were from Oak Park - me just from Palatine.
Zippy - you poor thing. I can only imagine where you may have temped in Palatine. It's a great place to live, but I'd hate to have it be my destination every morning. Northbrook, too. And we do have a parrot (see Scott's blog - "Scootersville"). I'm sure there's a hook around here somewhere ...
Your silly picture makes me happy.
