Good. Onward, then.
These pictures were all taken on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in (or very close to) Seattle, Washington.
3:56 a.m. I've been waking up a little early on Saturdays lately. Then I think of all the chores that need to be done, and realize that I can't get comfortable enough to fall back to sleep because there's a 100 pound Weimaraner trying to push me out of bed. So I get up.
5:11 a.m. Sunrise.
11:27 a.m. Heading towards downtown - the older section called Pioneer Square is at the bottom of the hill, right by Elliott Bay (part of Puget Sound).
11:33 a.m. Heading south on Interstate 5 towards Southcenter. Orange California poppies on the side of the road.
11:35 a.m. Mount Rainier.
1:17 p.m. After shopping around looking at new televisions, heading back home. We decided to stop by Seward Park, on Lake Washington in southeastern Seattle.
1:33 p.m. Walking along the south end of the park. Self-portrait of geeks (me and Scott). It was sunny and about 75 degrees today, the first nice day in weeks, so we were a little giddy.
1:50 p.m. Another view of Mount Rainier. It really is amazing how huge it is, even among the rest of the Cascade Mountains east of Seattle. Oh, and it's a volcano.
2:01 p.m. Quack.
2:24 p.m. In the Mount Baker neighborhood, looking at Lake Washington with downtown Bellevue in the background. The Interstate 90 floating bridge is at the bottom right, crossing Lake Washington to Mercer Island and the Eastside. While it was being built in 1990, it sank. It's doing better now.
3:49 p.m. Scott playing with Stoli. Obviously she adores him.
4:03 p.m. The "Floating Cloud" Japanese maple in the garden in front of our house. Purty.
BONUS PICTURE:
I decided that this month's bonus picture should be "Things That Smell Like Summer". This is Heliotrope - cool little sun-loving purple flowers that smell like vanilla and cherry. I'll send you all some.
Y'all have been the best 12 of 12 group ever, I mean that! Drive carefully!

Nice pics. Of course if that volcano erupts you're basically screwed. :)
Nice use of the gorgeous day! You were over on our side of the lake for a bit. :) We should meet up for coffee some time. Or at a park where the kids and dog can run around together.
Hey Matt, another spooky coincidence of you having an almost identical duck photo to me is that I was also up just before 4am yesterday, just could not sleep.
Pics are great this month, nice to see more of Seattle in the sun. Hope the TV shopping went well.
See you next month.
Beautiful pics as always, cuz!
Good grief...what's with waking up so early? Beautiful pictures of an absolutely beautiful place on this earth. I'd love to visit there someday. See you next month.
PS - I'll have to look for heliotrope at the garden center. I love good smelling flowers.
Such pretty pictures. I'm so glad you guys had the weekend off together.
And I'm holding out hope that one day soon I'll see a big ol' post in my reader for your blog :)
Looks like you guys had an amazing day. Thanks for sharing it with us.
thanks for letting us take a peek into your day via your 12 of 12 photos. i enjoyed than and look forward to seeing next months photos...
Heliotrope's leaves have some similarities to our dogwood trees out here. Would you really be willing to send out some seeds? It would be nice to grow a descendant of your plant since there's a rock of mine somewhere in your garden. It would be a very nice east coast/west coast connection.
good pics here!
Mt Rainier amazes me too. I never tire of looking at it.
Love the geeky/lake portrait, you two are a cute couple :D
And yay for sunny days that make everyone happy! Seattle looks gorgeous in the sunshine, so thanks for the little tour of the pretty spots!
(I was horrendously late putting my 12 of 12 up, but they are now. I held off on commenting so that people knew when I left a comment, my own was up – the only way I could think of to let people know when I posted! http://dogearedphotos.blogspot.com/2010/06/12-of-12-v50-june.html)
